Enjoying A Banner Season Fred Roberts (at left), president of the Fresh Pond Road Chamber of Commerce, was joined by State Senator Serphin Maltese in displaying one of the patriotic banners which can be found on poles along the Fresh Pond Road shopping strip from Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood to 60th Avenue in Maspeth. Roberts noted that the banners were sponsored by a grant of $2,500 from Maltese, who was credited for his desire to help Ridgewood and the Chamber. Roberts organized, collected and designed the banners. At the bottom of each is the name of one of the 50 stores and organizations which paid as sponsors for the banners.
