Support For Local Engine Company Firefighters from Engine Company 293, which remains at risk of being closed as a budgetary cutback, were guests at the recent Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association meeting. The firefighters are pictured with City Council Member Dennis Gallagher and WRBA members. As noted, all of Woodhaven’s local organizations have joined the fight to keep Engine 293 open. Persons wishing to show their support are encouraged to write a letter to Mayor Michael Bloomberg at City Hall or sign petitions. Petitions can be obtained at the WRBA office, located at 84-20 Jamaica Avenue, or via fax by calling 1-718-296-3735.
