School’s Art Wish Granted           Thanks to a grant from Verizon, P.S. 144 in Forest Hills was able to purchase laptop computers and software. This technology provided support for the school’s “Tiffany Project,” which is on display at the Queens Museum of Art, making P.S. 144 the only school to have an art show exhibited at the museum. As noted, the awarding of the $10,000 grant followed a meeting, arranged by City Council Member Melinda Katz, between Verizon and P.S. 144 staff. Shown from left: Bill Martin, Verizon’s director of community affairs; Tom Finkelpearl, executive director of the Queens Museum of Art; Council Member Katz; and P.S. 144 Principal Susan Bahaloul.
