Recall Hams In Jackson Heights

Sliced “Boar’s Head Spiced Ham” is being recalled from a Jackson Heights supermarket due to Listeria contamination.
The brand of ham was sliced at the deli department of the Bravo Supermarket located at 85-15 Roosevelt Avenue. The store has voluntarily closed its deli department until the source of the contamination is determined. It is also recalling the product.
The product code was not available, but the ham was sold in the Jackson Heights area only.
The Listeria was discovered following routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Listeria is a common organism found in nature. It can cause serious complications for pregnant women, such as still birth. Other problems can manifest in people with compromised immune systems. Listeria can also cause serious flu-like symptoms in healthy individuals.
Consumers who have purchased this product should return it to the place of purchase or discard it.
