| Rename Forest Hills Street For Victim Of 9/11 Attack by Rob MacKay A Forest Hills street corner will be renamed this Sunday, August 8, to honor a 9/11 victim who dedicated most of his free time to coaching and mentoring youngsters.
Hoffman, who died at age 36, was a bond broker for Cantor Fitzgerald in Tower One of the World Trade Center. Though his love of surfing brought him to live in Long Beach, the Our Lady of Mercy graduate was still very active in the Forest Hills community. He coached in the Queens Falcons football program and co-founded Run To Daylight, a tutoring program that helps Queens kids get scholarships to elite private schools. One of 12 siblings, Hoffman was married to Gabrielle. Their daughters name is Madeline. |
