Find Handguns; Shooters Sought

by Robert Pozarycki
Bullets flew but nobody was injured after a pair of gun-toting individuals fired shots at a male along an Ozone Park street last Saturday afternoon, Apr. 26, it was reported.

As of press time, the pair of alleged shooters remain at large, police noted.

Law enforcement sources said the incident took place at around 1:50 p.m. Saturday in front of a location on 107th Avenue near 90th Street.

According to information obtained by police, two male Hispanics between 18 and 20 years of age allegedly displayed small firearms and fired two shots at another individual, causing him to flee from the scene.

Shortly after opening fire, police said, the two suspects fled from the area.

Members of the 106th Precinct responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

In responding to the shooting, police initiated a land and air search for the suspects.

During the canvass of the area, law enforcement sources said, two handguns were recovered by police at a home on 93rd Street near Cross Bay Boulevard.

One of the weapons, a black .45-cal. firearm, was found in front of the location, while a small .38-cal. handgun was located in the rear yard.

Despite their efforts, it was noted, no arrests were made in connection with the shooting.

The case has been presented to the 106th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.

Anyone with any information regarding the shooting that could prove helpful is asked to call the 106th Precinct Detective Squad at 1-718-845-2260; all calls will be kept confidential.
