Pool Name Honors Memory Of Volunteer  Sunnyside Gardens Park honored the memory of the late Ned Sweeney with a special pool dedication recently. A native of Ireland who lived in Woodside, Sweeney spent countless hours as a volunteer worker in painting and repairing the park’s kiddie pool. He died suddenly on New Year’s Day at age 47. Standing by the memorial plaque that was unveiled last Sunday, June 1 are Sweeney’s daughters Rachel and Sarah, with acting park manager Stephen Martin.
