EDDA NADLER of Middle Village died on August 24, 2008 at the age of 68. A native of Austria, she was the beloved wife of Richard, devoted mother of Marianne, Evelyn and Cindy, mother-in-law of James Fox, Glenn Stidolph and Gregory Verderber, dear sister of Frieda, Sophie, Resi, Olga and Trudy, fond grandmother of Timothy, Amy, Alyssa, Valerie, Brian and Stephanie. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Margaret's Church followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery under the direction of Michaels Funeral Home, 79- 22 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village.

+++ HELEN A. HAENSEL died on August 27, 2008 at the age of 89. A native of Queens, she was the widow of the late Clemens A., mother of the late Frank C., motherin law of Virginia of Bethel, Connecticut, dear grandmother and grandmother-in-law of Karen L., and Stephen E. Dempsey, Christopher W., and Marjorie Haensel, and Katherine E., and John Swayne all of Connecticut, greatgrandmother of Brian, Michelle and Adam Dempsey, Colin and Ciara Haensel and Amanda Swayne. Private interment was held in Bethel, Connecticut under the direction of the Bean Funeral Home.

+++ EVELINE WITTINE of Mountville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Glendale, died on August 26, 2008 at the age of 76. A native of Yugoslavia, she was the widow of the late Alois, devoted mother and mother-in-law of Ingrid A. and Victor C. Vascellaro of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Heidi M. and John C. Decesare of Chathan, New Jersey, dear sister and sister-in-law of Eric and Lutz Wiessner and Anna and the late George Rakoczy, and late Armin Tschinkel, fond grandmother of Megan, Alexa and Trevor Vascellaro, Anna and Charlie Decesare. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Leo the Great Church, Lancaster, Pennsylvania followed by interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Kraft-Workman Funeral Home, Mountville, Pennsylvania.

+++ MILDRED JANE FALKENTHAL, formerly of Ridgewood, died on August 14, 2008 at the age of 77. She was the devoted mother of Bill and Patrick of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Linda Kelly of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, dear sister of John and Theodore Donohue and Eileen Fleissner; also survived by nine grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

+++ PHILOMENA "Fanny" GOTTI died on August 28, 2008 at the age of 94. She was the widow of the late John, Sr., devoted mother of Peter, Richard, William, Marie DeVita, Eugene, Vincent, Patricia Engelton, Rose Serpico, Lucy Aquilla and the late Carmine and John; also survived by thirty-two grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth followed by interment in St. John's Cemetery.

She was the widow of the late Divaldo R., devoted mother of Raul and Maria Elena Fonti, mother-in-law of Dominic and Dolores, dear sister of Manuel Antoni Alvarez and Lilia Salome, fond grandmother of Daniel, Peter, Thomas and Samantha. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church followed by interment in Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

He was the husband of the late Josephine, devoted father of Thomas, and the late Ronald and Barbara; also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A native of Vad, Romania, beloved husband of Maria, devoted father of Andrel, Julian, Horatlu and Dragos (all Danetlu), dear brother of Maria Sandu; also survived by two grandchildren. Religious services were held at the Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Avenue, Ridgewood, officiated by Father Gheorghe Schlop followed by interment in Cypress Hills Cemetery.

+++ SYLVESTER W. UHL of Ridgewood died on August 24, 2008 at the age of 84. He was the husband of the late Veronica, devoted father of Sylvester W. Jr., Timothy D., John J., Mary T. Werkmann, Theresa E., and the late Thomas F., dear grandfather of Timothy, John, Justin Thomas, William John, Emily Elizabeth, Christine Elaine, Deborah Lynn and Jennifer Marie, great-grandfather of Madeline Jenn'e and Gavin Joseph. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery under the direction of the Schwille Funeral Home, 66-32 Myrtle Avenue, Glendale.
