Council Candidates Stump At Liberty Park Meet
The campaign for the City Council District 30 seat up for grabs in the November general election made a stop in Glendale last Tuesday, Sept. 2 for a candidates' night event hosted by the Liberty Park Home Owners Association. Middle Village Republican City Council Member Anthony Como (top left photo) and his challenger, Glendale Democrat Elizabeth Crowley (top right photo), pitched their ideas to the crowd assembled at Glendale Reformed Church while also addressing questions and concerns raised by those in attendance. The two candidates were separated by 38 votes in the June special election to decide who would occupy through the end of this calendar year the seat formerly held by Dennis Gallagher. The winner of the Nov. 4 general election will hold the seat through the conclusion of Gallagher's term, which expires at the end of 2009. (photos: Joseph Epstein) |
