Home Is Damaged In Woodside Blaze


Nobody was injured after flames broke out the first floor of a home on 54th Street in Woodside during a one-alarm fire last Wednesday, Nov. 19, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the blaze occurred at around 1:50 p.m. at the residence, located between 39th and Woodside avenues. Members of Engine companies 259, 260, 262, 292, 307 and 325; Ladder companies 116, 117, 154 and 163; Rescue 4; Squad Company 288 and Battalions 45 and 49, under the direction of Division 14, responded to the scene with the 108th Precinct and EMS. Firefighters used two hose lines to bring the blaze under control at around 2:30 p.m., FDNY sources noted.
