WORKERS LEFT TIED
Robbed On Job In Warehouse Stickup
Armed gunmen came to a Glendale warehouse looking for loot on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 14, removing the personal belongings of several workers before leaving them tied up, police said. Reportedly, the heist occurred at the C & K Distributors warehouse located at 70-17 83rd St. Both armed suspects remain at large as of press time, law enforcement sources said. One of the suspects in the caper was described by police as an African-American male with dreadlocks who was last observed wearing a gray hooded jacket, blue jeans and workboots while carrying a silver revolver handgun. The other perpetrator, NYPD sources noted, was described as a Hispanic male wearing a ski mask covering half of his face as well as a black vest and jacket while carrying a black automatic handgun. Authorities said the trouble began at around 12:40 p.m. inside the warehouse located in the vicinity of 83rd Street and Cooper Avenue. Reportedly, the two armed perpetrators entered the business where three employees worked. Brandishing firearms, police said, the suspects ordered the workers to lie down on the floor. Once the employees complied with the demands, it was reported, the bands tied each with plastic zip ties. According to information obtained by police, the African- American suspect confronted an individual later identified as a warehouse manager and ordered him to open the safe. Reportedly, nothing was taken as the safe was found to be empty. Meanwhile, law enforcement sources said, the other armed perpetrator removed personal property from each of the restrained workers, including cash, cell phones, credit cards and jewelry. The two suspects then fled from the scene in an unknown direction, police said. Members of the 104th Precinct responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. During the preliminary investigation, numerous police units— including officers from the Queens North Task Force—conducted a search of the surrounding area for the suspects. Despite their efforts, law enforcement sources stated, no immediate arrests were made. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the 104th Precinct Detective Squad, police said. Anyone with any information regarding the stickup that could prove helpful is asked to call the 104th Precinct Detective Squad at 1-718-386-2735; all calls will be kept confidential.
