HELEN J. MEADE of Middle Village, formerly of Greenpoint, died on December 15, 2008 at the age of 85. She was the devoted mother of Joseph, James, Jerold, Deborah Kakol and the late John, dear sister of Walter Ciecierski; also survived by seven grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Margaret Church followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Michaels Funeral Home, 79-22 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village.

+++ ANNA BALZ died on December 12, 2008 at the age of 94. She was the widow of the late Rudolph, devoted mother of Randolph and the late Roger. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. today, December 18 at Ascension Church followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

He was the devoted father of Gerard, Rosemary and MaryAnn, dear brother of Adolph, Al and Mary; also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic War Veterans Post 1172.
