DEATH NOTICES

AGNES M. ALBRO died on December 19, 2008 at the age of 95. She was the widow of the late William H., devoted mother of Frances Rohling, William J., and Carol A. Dooley, dear sister of Joseph Stravitch; also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of Hope Church followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery under the direction of the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

MARY L. DRISCOLL died on December 15, 2008 at the age of 77. She was the dear sister of Patricia Hallinan, Agnes Driscoll and the late John and William Driscoll. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of Hope Church followed by cremation in Fresh Pond Crematory. Inurnment in St. Raymond's Cemetery at a later date under the direction of the Papavero Funeral Home, 72- 27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

GERALD P. LaBRUSCIANO died on December 19, 2008 at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Marylynne, devoted father of Lauri Davanzo, Kimberly Ward and Kenneth LaBrusciano, dear brother of Ronald, fond grandfather of Jennifer, Nicholas, Shane, Caitlyn, Kaila, Savannah, Emily, Trevor, Cameron and Brooke. Religious services were held at the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth followed by interment in All Faiths Cemetery.

KATHERINE PACE died on December 20, 2008 at the age of 98. She was the widow of the late Michael, devoted mother of Anthony Pace, dear sister of Vita Aguanno; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of Hope Church followed by entombment in St. John's Cemetery under the direction of the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

MELBA LEYTE VIDAL died on December 21, 2008 at the age of 87. She was the dear sister of Elsa del Campo and Rafaella Alvero, fond aunt of Elsie and Frank del Campo and Ernesto and Demetrio Alvero. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Ascension Church followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

OLGA LOSKE of Fresh Meadows, formerly of Glendale, died on December 20, 2008 at the age of 95. A native of Gottschee, Austria, she was the widow of the late Heinrich, devoted mother of Elfriede Maroney and Walter and Helmut Loske, both in Austria, dear sister of Ernst Meditz; also survived by six grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. He was a U.S. Vietnam War Air Force veteran. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Gabriel's Church followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery under the direction of the George Werst Funeral Home, A Dignity Provider, 71-41 Cooper Avenue, Glendale.

ISTVAN VARKONYI of New York City died on December 17, 2008 at the age of 81. A native of Hungary, he was the devoted father of Veronica Horne and Maria Pacheco, dear brother of Leoncia Nagy; also survived by four grandchildren. Services were held at the Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Avenue, Ridgewood, followed by cremation in Fresh Pond Crematory.

ANGELITA GARCIA of Brooklyn died on December 16, 2008 at the age of 93. A native of Catano, Puerto Rico, she was the widow of the late Juan, devoted mother of Maria, Carmen, John, Jr. (all Garcia), Barbara Marrero, the late Jose and John III (both Garcia); also survived by 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Religious services officiated by Reverend Angelo Mena were held at the Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Avenue, Ridgewood, followed by interment in Cypress Hills Cemetery.
