112th Precinct Holiday Party A Swinging Treat
The 112th Precinct Community Council's holiday party, held Dec. 17 at Russell Sage Junior High School across from the precinct's Forest Hills stationhouse, was an opportunity for the precinct to honor many of those who helped them over the past year. Among those awarded were the winners of the precinct's annual Anti-Drug Essay Contest, including (holding plaques from left to right) fourth-grader Joshua Singavarapu of P.S. 175, Forest Hills High School's Miranda Ruchard (12th grade) and Stella Ilyayev (11th grade), sixth-grader Isabella Cao of P.S. 101 and (third from right) eighth-grader Ryan Karsten of Our Lady of Mercy. They are shown in the top photo with Capt. Christopher Tamola, the precinct's commanding officer (second from left); HSBC Bank's Tamara Gavrielof (fifth from left); P.S. 101 teacher Margot Sawicki (fourth from right, holding the plaque for student Yinge Zhao, who was not in attendance); Precinct Council President Heidi Harrison Chain (second from right) and Assistant Chief Diana Pizzuti of Patrol Borough Queens North (right). Providing entertainment throughout the evening was the Police Auxiliary Band (shown in the bottom photo), who performed numerous holiday tunes to the crowd's enjoyment.
