Christmas Tree Collection

Christmas trees and other holiday trees will be collected separately from regular household garbage beginning this Monday, Jan. 5, Community Board 5 has been told.

According to District Manager Gary Giordano, all trees should be placed at curbsides for collection bare and without any plastic bags or wrapping. Ornaments, tree lights and tree stands must also be removed before the trees can be discarded.

The trees will be collected by the Department of Sanitation and will be recycled into mulch.
