Walls Burned In Bushwick Blaze

(photo: Joseph Epstein) (photo: Joseph Epstein) Firefighters were on the scene after a one-alarm fire broke out at a Bushwick apartment house on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 4, FDNY sources said. Reportedly, the blaze started at around 2:30 p.m. inside the walls of the top floor of the three-story structure on Jefferson Street near Wilson Avenue. Members of Engine companies 218, 237 and 271; Ladder companies 112 and 124; Battalion 28; Division 11; the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. The fire was brought under control at around 4 p.m., said an FDNY spokesperson.
