DEATH NOTICES

MARGARET J. GUNDERSEN died on December 27, 2008 at the age of 77. She was the beloved wife of Garfield, devoted mother of Patricia Sena, Susan Vignola, Linda Schaefer, Janet Leonhardt and Lawrence; also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Sacred Heart Church followed by interment in St. John's Cemetery under the direction of the Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village.

KRISTINE H. HALULAKOS of Dover, Delaware died on November 11, 2008 at the age of 89. A native of Raritan, New Jersey, she was the widow of the late James, a founding member of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation. The couple operated an insurance business in Woodhaven that expanded to real estate before they relocated to Dover. She was an elder in the Forest Park Reformed Church in Woodhaven, a Girl Scout leader for many years and a volunteer in the YMCA's children's programs. She was.the devoted mother of Kathy Vaughn and Susan Halulakos, dear sister and sister-in-law of Flo and Ed Wisk; also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospices, 911 South Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or St. Francis Hospital, 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY 11576.

SUSAN H. KALMAR of Glendale died on January 7, 2009 at the age of 89. A native of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, she was the widow of the late Andrew J., devoted mother of Susan Sibug, Andrew J. Jr., Jean Stark, Ruth Kovaluskie and Joan Smith; also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twelve greatgrandchildren. ROY W. SCHMIDT of Glendale died on December 28, 2008 at the age of 85. A native of Glendale, he was the husband of the late Dorothy, devoted father of Jon and Donald Schmidt; also survived by four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. LEONARD OLBRICH of Ridgewood died on January 4, 2009 at the age of 77. A native of Ridgewood, he was the beloved husband of Joan, devoted father of Kathleen Scotto and the late Mary Olbrich, dear grandfather of Kristina Scotto. He was a lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Matthias Church and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. A native of Brooklyn, he was the husband of the late Kathleen, with whom he operated the Outerbridge Inn Tavern before retiring. He was the devoted father of Lorraine, Debbie, Marie, Donna, Edward, Johnny, Andrew and the late Stephen; stepfather of Billy, Louis and John; dear brother of Dorothy, Anne, John and Nicholas; also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
