     That's One Lucky Shopper Tower Electronics at 60-92 Myrtle Avenue provided a 32-inch HDTV as the grand prize in the Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) Lucky Shopper Holiday Raffle. Carmela Alvarez (at left) won the prize, which was presented by storeowner Frank Papp and his daughter Francesca.      Air Force Airman 1st Class Yolande M. Dixon has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman is a 1997 graduate of Newtown High School, Elmhurst. She is the daughter of Luna and Ezzard Dixon of Queens Village and sister of Damian Dixon of Washington, D.C.

     A Dance For Cash At the St. Margaret Americana Dance fund-raiser on Saturday, Jan. 31, Michael J. Roemmelt of Michaels Funeral Home in Middle Village presented Rev. Steven J. Aguggia with a check for $1500 for St. Margaret School. Roemmelt, shown at left with Reverend Aguggia, helped secure the funds from his casket supply company, Milso Industries. He also donated a flat screen HDTV for a raffle prize.

     Ridgewood's Library Friends Installed The Friends of the Ridgewood Library held an installation of its executive members and board of directors on Monday, Feb. 2 at the Ridgewood Library. In addition, the group of local library advocates was rechartered by Queens Library. The installation was officiated by City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley, who is shown standing at center in front row, flanked by James Van Bramer (at right), Queens Library's director of government and community relations, and Terry Onody, the Friends of the Ridgewood Library's new president (at left). Among those also present were Jeff Gottlieb, representing City Council Member Joseph Addabbo; Antonio Reynosa, representing City Council Member Diana Reyna; and Vesna Simonovic, branch manager of the Ridgewood Library.      They Had A Ball Supporting Their School The only cure for dance fever was to take to the floor at the St. Aloysius Parish Center in Ridgewood, as the Home School Association of St. Aloysius School sponsored its annual Winter Ball last Saturday evening, Jan. 31.      Royals Sprint To Meet Feat The Christ the King Freshman Boys Track Team placed second overall at the Brooklyn Queens Championships, the Middle Village high school's best finish in over 30 years. The freshman Royals, who accomplished the feat with only eight runners, beat out teams with twice as many runners by winning five out of the seven races that they entered, and finishing second in the other two.
