Cop Feted For Busting Tire Bandits
For his efforts to track down a pair of suspects in connection with an ongoing pattern of tire thefts in the 106th Precinct area, P.O. Paul Laurino (third from right) was honored as Cop of the Month during the 106th Precinct Community Council's Mar. 11 meeting at the Ozone Park stationhouse. Reportedly, an investigation found that the perpetrators—identified as two men in their 20s—swiped tires and rims from as many as 11 vehicles in the precinct's confines. As shown, Officer Laurino was presented by Capt. James Kimmel, executive officer, Lt. Joseph Salvato, special operations coordinator, and Frank Dardani, community council president, with a plaque donated by the Times Newsweekly.
