Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, May 13. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Some L Trains To Canarsie Shortened

Select Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains will make their final stop at Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues during weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. beginning Monday, May 18 through Friday, June 26. Service will operate normally on Monday, May 25 through Friday, May 29.

Riders can transfer between Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains at Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip.

J Train Skips Stops In Williamsburg

Jamaica-bound J trains will skip the Hewes Street, Lorimer Street and Flushing Avenue stations this weekend, from 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16 until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 17.

For service to these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then trans- fer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take a Manhattan bound J train to Marcy Avenue, get a free ticket and transfer to a Jamaica bound J train.

Local Service, Stops Skipped On 7 Line

Flushing-bound 7 express trains will operate local service between Queensboro Plaza and Mets-Willets Point on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15 from noon until 3 p.m.

Additionally, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street and 82nd Street stations on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15 from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Furthermore, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the aforementioned stops as well as 74th Street, 69th Street, 52nd Street, 46th Street, 40th Street and 33rd Street stations on Saturday, May 16, from 4 a.m. until 10 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard, Woodside-61st Street, 74th Street (Thursday and Friday only) or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushingbound 7 train. For service from these stations, take a Flushing-bound 7 train to Woodside-61st Street, Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train.

It was also noted that 7 train service will be suspended between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza on Sun- day, May 17 from 5 a.m. until noon. Shuttle buses will replace the 7 train to the Queensboro Plaza, 45th Road-Court House Square, Hunters Point Avenue and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue stations.

The shuttle buses can be picked up at locations near the following 7 train stations:

• Queensboro Plaza—on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street;

• 45th Road-Court House Square— on 23rd Street at Jackson Avenue;

• Hunters Point Avenue—on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and,

• Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue— on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.

For service to and from Manhattan, riders are advised to transfer to the N train at Queensboro Plaza.

Work Cuts E Trains To Jamaica Center

Free shuttle buses will replace E trains between Jamaica Center and Union Turnpike late night, Tuesdays through Fridays, from 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday, May 22. During this time period, all E trains will operate on the F line between Union Turnpike and 179th Street.

Riders can transfer between E trains at Union Turnpike.

The shuttle buses may be picked up at the following locations near E train stations:

• Jamaica Center—on Archer Avenue at Parsons Boulevard;

• Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue— at the Q60 bus stop on Archer Avenue at Sutphin Boulevard (to Union Turnpike) or the Q30 bus stop on Archer Avenue at Sutphin Boulevard (to Jamaica Center);

• Jamaica-Van Wyck—at the Q54 bus stop on Metropolitan Avenue at Kew Gardens Road (to Union Turnpike) or the Q24 bus stop on Van Wyck Expressway at 89th Avenue (to Jamaica Center);

• Van Wyck Boulevard—at the Q60 bus stop on Queens Boulevard at Main Street (to Union Turnpike) or on Van Wyck Expressway at Queens Boulevard (to Jamaica Center); and,

• Union Turnpike—on Queens Boulevard at Union Turnpike.

Changes To Weekend Express On E, F, R

Manhattan-bound E and F trains will operate local service between 71st- Continental Avenues and Roosevelt Avenue this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 15 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18.

Meanwhile, Jamaica-bound E and F trains will operate local service through the same section this weekend, from 12:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18.

Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Additionally, Manhattan-bound E and R trains will operate express service between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, May 16 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18. During this time period, all R trains are extended to the 179th Street F train station.

For service to the 65th Street, Northern Boulevard, 46th Street, Steinway Street and 36th Street stations, take an E or R train to Queens Plaza, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound E train or R train. For service from these stations, take a Jamaica-bound E train or R train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or R train.

Meanwhile, all Jamaica-bound F trains will operate on the V line between 47th-50th Streets and Roosevelt Avenue this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, May 16 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18.

For service to the Roosevelt Island and 21st Street-Queensbridge stations, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train. For service from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound F train to 47th- 50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaicabound F train.

It was also noted that all Manhattanbound F trains will skip the 169th Street, Sutphin Boulevard and Van Wyck Boulevard stations on Saturday, May 16, from 12:01 a.m. until noon.

For service to these stations, take the F train to Union Turnpike, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take a Jamaica bound F train to Parsons Boulevard or 179th Street, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train.

Late Night Changes Along The F Line

Through Friday, July 2, F trains will operate local service between RooseveltAvenue and 71st-ContinentalAvenues in both directions on late nights, Tuesday through Friday, from 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. (Jamaica-bound only); and Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. (Manhattan-bound only).

Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Additionally, Manhattan-bound F trains will run on the E line between Roosevelt Avenue and 42nd Street, then on the A line to Jay Street during late nights, Tuesday through Friday, from 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday, June 5. Service will operate normally on Tuesday, May 26.

As a result, the 21st Street-Queensbridge station will be skipped during this period. For service to this stations, take the E or F train to Queens Plaza, then transfer to the Q66 or Q100 buses. For service from this station, take a Jamaica bound F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train.

No G Train Service Between L.I.C., F.H.

G train service is suspended between 71st-Continental Avenues and Court Square this weekend, from 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 15 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 18; and during overnight hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday, June 26. Service will operate normally on Monday, May 25 and Tuesday, May 26.

For service to Brooklyn, take the R train to Queens Plaza and transfer to the E, then take the E train to 23rd Street- Ely Avenue, where riders can transfer to the G train. For service to Queens, take the E train at Court Square to Queens Plaza, then transfer to the R train.

Q67 Buses Rerouted Due To L.I.C. Project

Due to the ongoing closure of the Borden Avenue bridge, the Q67 bus route will be detoured through Long Island City.

All eastbound Q67 buses heading to Maspeth will use their regular route along Hunters Point Avenue, traveling past their scheduled turn on 27th Street, before turning right onto 30th Street for two blocks to Borden Avenue. The buses will then turn left on Borden Avenue back to their regular route.

Westbound buses heading for Long Island City traveling on Borden Avenue will turn right on 30th Place and travel north to Hunters Point Avenue. The buses will then turn left on Hunters Point Avenue to continue their regular route.

The closure is expected to last through June 2009.

Construction Causes Detour On Q38 Bus

Ongoing reconstruction along 108th Street, 62nd Drive and the Horace Harding Expressway in Rego Park has also resulted in the detour of the Q38 bus through the area until further notice.

All 62nd Drive-bound Q38 buses will not stop on 63rd Road at 108th Street and 62nd Drive east of 108th Street. Respectively, the buses will stop on 108th Street between 63rd Road and 63rd Avenue and on 62nd Drive west of 108th Street.
