Students Meet Police, Pols at Law Day Event
Speakers On Parade At I.S. 73

      Police officers, elected officials, and representatives from city and federal agencies visited with students of I.S. 73Q during the 33rd annual Law Day sponsored by the Maspeth Kiwanis Club. P.O. Sean Garland of the 104th Precinct warned sixth-graders of cyber bullying and the dangers they face on the internet.

Glendale Students Treat Crowd To Sweet Sounds At St. John's Lutheran School's Big Spring Concert
     There was a little bit of everything at St. John's Lutheran School's annual Spring Concert, from a performance of "Amazing Grace" accompanied by sitar, harmonium and tabla to a paean to Abraham Lincoln called "Hymn for the Gettysburg Address." The program, directed by the Glendale school's music director, Dom Costanzo (bottom photo, at keyboard), and performed last Thursday evening, May 7, also included "Amoeba Drill," from the kindergarteners; "Gonna Play Guitar," by first graders and "Face," from the second grade.
