DEATH NOTICES

LORRAINE S. VITE of Jamaica Estates died on June 18, 2009 at the age of 80. She was the widow of the late Charles Vite, devoted morther of Charles and Andre Vite, and dear sister of Herman Hausman; also survived by five grandchildren. Services were held at the Fox Funeral Home, 98-07 Ascan Avenue, Forest Hills, followed by interment in All Faiths Cemetery.

+++ HAROLD J. MEDITZ of Syosset, L.I. died on June 16, 2009 at the age of 76. A native of Ridgewood, he was the beloved husband of Edeltraud, devoted father of Christine and Carolyn (both Meditz), and dear brother of Clare Schauer. Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church followed by interment in St. John's Cemetery under the direction of the Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Avenue, Ridgewood.

+++ MICHAEL SPOTO died on June 19, 2009 at the age of 56. He was the loving son of Carmela, dear brother of James, David and Vincent, and fond uncle of Alexandra and James. Services were held at the Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village.

+++ ROGER COLLANTES died on June 17, 2009 at the age of 72. He was the beloved husband of Fe Dejano, devoted father of Rhoel, Reynald, Rogelio and Rita (all Dejano), father-in-law of Lindy and Sarah, and fond grandfather of Harvey, Charles, Fay, Brianna, Sophia Fe and Ronmikhel; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was the beloved husband of Stella, devoted father of John, Ted and Dean, fatherin law of JoAnn, Cathy and Tina, and fond grandfather of James, Peter, Jessica Lyn, Dimitri, Zachary and Nina Angela; also survived by nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
