Fares for rides on MTA New York City Transit's buses and subways and on bus lines operated by the MTA Bus Company will increase this Sunday, June 28, it was announced. The base fare for subway and local buses will increase from $2 to $2.25. Reduced fares will be raised to $1.10 per ride. Express bus fares will jump from $5 to $5.50 (reduced fares will be increased to $2.75 during off-peak hours only). Charges for unlimited ride Metro- Cards will also be raised beginning on Sunday as follows: • One-Day Fun Pass—from $7.50 to $8.25; • 7-Day Card—from $25 to $27 (reduced fare $13.50); • 14-Day Card—from $47 to $51.50 (reduced fare $25.75); • 30-Day Card—from $81 to $89 (reduced fare $44.50); and, • 7-Day Express Bus Plus Card— from $41 to $45. An additional 15 percent will be added to all pay-per-ride MetroCards with the purchase or addition of $8 or more. Riders can refill their cards to use any remaining balance. It was also noted that reduced fares for students will be eliminated on all express lines operated by MTA Bus Company. For more information on the fare increase, visit www.mta.info. Subway Changes The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work. These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, June 24. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following: Weekend Closure On L Line In Brooklyn Shuttle buses will replace L train service between Lorimer Street and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 29; and late nights, Monday through Friday, from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday, July 17. Service will operate normally on the L train on Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3. Riders can transfer between the L train and shuttle buses at Lorimer Street or Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues. Customers may take the A or M trains as alternate routes; the A is available at the 14th Street-Eighth Avenue or Broadway Junction stations; the M is available at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues. The shuttle buses may be picked up at the following locations near L train stations: • Lorimer Street—on Metropolitan Avenue at Union Avenue; • Graham Avenue—on Metropolitan Avenue at Graham Avenue; • Grand Street—on Bushwick Avenue at Grand Street; • Montrose Avenue—on Bushwick Avenue at Montrose Avenue; • Morgan Avenue—on Morgan Avenue at Harrison Place (to Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues) or on Harrison Place at Morgan Avenue (to Lorimer Street); • Jefferson Street—on Wyckoff Avenue at Starr Street; • DeKalb Avenue—on Wyckoff Avenue at DeKalb Avenue; and, • Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues—on Wyckoff Avenue at Myrtle Avenue. Additionally, select Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains will make their final stop at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues on Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Riders can transfer between Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains at Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip. Local Service, Stops Skipped On 7 Line Flushing-bound 7 express trains will operate local service between Queensboro Plaza and Mets-Willets Point on Friday, June 26, from noon until 3 p.m. Manhattan-bound 7 express trains will operate local service between 74th Street and Queensboro Plaza that same day from 10 a.m. until noon. Furthermore, 7 express trains will operate local service between Queensboro Plaza and Mets-Willets Point on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time. Additionally, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street and 82nd Street, stations on Friday, June 26 from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard, Woodside-61st Street, 74th Street (Thursday and Friday only) or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take a Flushingbound 7 train to Woodside-61st Street, Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattanbound 7 train. Track Work Trims E, F Train Service Due to reduced capacity caused by track work, there will be fewer trains running on the E and F lines during morning and evening rush hour periods on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. through Aug. 31. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time and to be prepared for more crowded trains. Late Night Changes Along The F Line Through Thursday, July 2, F trains will operate local service between Roosevelt Avenue and 71st-Continental Avenues in both directions on late nights, Tuesday through Friday, from 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. (Jamaicabound only); and Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. (Manhattan-bound only). This service change will also be in effect during late nights this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, to 5 a.m. Saturday, June 27 (Manhattanbound only); Saturday from 12:30 to 5 a.m. (Jamaica-bound only); and on Sunday, June 28, and Monday, June 29, from 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m. (both directions). Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time. Furthermore, all Jamaica-bound F trains will operate on the V line between 47th-50th Streets and Queens Plaza, then run on the express line to Roosevelt Avenue during late nights, Tuesday through Friday, from 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m. through Thursday, July 2. For service to the 21st Street- Queensbridge station, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train. For servcompose, from this station, take a Manhattan bound F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train. No G Train Service Between L.I.C., F.H. G train service is suspended between 71st-Continental Avenues and Court Square this weekend, from 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 26 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 29; and late night on Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26, from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. For service to Brooklyn, take the R train to Queens Plaza and transfer to the E, then take the E train to 23rd Street-Ely Avenue, where riders can transfer to the G train. For service to Queens, take the E train at Court Square to Queens Plaza, then transfer to the R train. Stops Skipped Along N, W Lines In Astoria Manhattan-bound N and W trains will skip the 30th Avenue, Broadway, 36th Avenue and 39th Avenue stations on Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 2, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. For service to these stations, take the N or W trains to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoriabound N or W train. For service from these stations, take an Astoria-bound N or W train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N or W train. It was noted that all W trains will operate every 15 minutes during this period. Q67 Buses Rerouted Due To L.I.C. Project Due to the ongoing closure of the Borden Avenue bridge, the Q67 bus route will be detoured through Long Island City. All eastbound Q67 buses heading to Maspeth will use their regular route along Hunters Point Avenue, traveling past their scheduled turn on 27th Street, before turning right onto 30th Street for two blocks to Borden Avenue. The buses will then turn left on Borden Avenue back to their regular route. Westbound buses heading for Long Island City traveling on Borden Avenue will turn right on 30th Place and travel north to Hunters Point Avenue. The buses will then turn left on Hunters Point Avenue to continue their regular route. The closure is expected to last through October. Construction Causes Detour On Q38 Bus Ongoing reconstruction along 108th Street, 62nd Drive and the Horace Harding Expressway in Rego Park has also resulted in the detour of the Q38 bus through the area until further notice. All 62nd Drive-bound Q38 buses will not stop on 63rd Road at 108th Street and 62nd Drive east of 108th Street. Respectively, the buses will stop on 108th Street between 63rd Road and 63rd Avenue and on 62nd Drive west of 108th Street.
