      St. Pancras Junior Softball Team won the Catholic Youth Organization Diocesan Championship for the second straight year, defeating St. Margaret's 8-6 on June 25 at Juniper Valley Park. The game was exciting and close, and matched the two teams with the best regular season records for the C.Y.O. Junior Division crown.

RGMVM Squad 'Aces' Tourney
     The RGMVM Aces 10U team captured its first travel tournament championship on Sunday, July 5, it was reported. The Aces opened the tournament with a 6-3 victory over the L.I. Diamondbacks on July 3 before dropping the nightcap to the Brooklyn Bulldogs. On July 4, the Aces tied the Bonnie Orioles 5-5 and closed the day with a 9-4 win over the Bulldogs. The semifinal game on Sunday ended in a hard fought 7-4 victory over the Bulldogs. The Aces got off to a quick start in the final against the Orioles, leading by six runs after two innings, but a tired pitching staff allowed the Orioles to claw back to 6-6. In the bottom of the third, the Aces bats awoke, sending 15 batters to the plate and scoring 10 runs putting the game out of reach.       SUMMER I.S. 291, DISTRICT 32 is hosting a Junior High School program of the Big Apple Games at 231 Palmetto Street between Wilson and Knickerbocker avenues in Bushwickfrom now until August 13. The program offers summer play for students in grades five through nine from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The program is free and includes breakfast and lunch.
