Crook Ordered $ At Bushwick Eatery

Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a money-hungry bandit who held up a sandwich shop in Bushwick early last Tuesday morning, Feb. 26. According to the NYPD, the perpetrator—described as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the word “PARK” written on the back—robbed the Subway shop located at 1432 Myrtle Ave. at 3:15 a.m. last Tuesday. Reportedly, the crook ordered a sandwich and, as an employee began to prepare it, displayed a box cutter and demanded money from the register. Authorities said the worker complied with the request and handed a sum of cash to the thief, who fled from the scene. Members of the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded; there were no injuries. Anyone with any information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts that could prove helpful is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-577-TIPS, by text message to 274637 (enter information, then the code TIP577) or online at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com. All calls and messages will be kept confidential.
