Race For Comptroller

Gennaro Backs Stringer

The following is a letter from City Council Member James Gennaro intended for publication.

“I write today to express my unwavering support for Scott Stringer for City Comptroller, support that I am very confident runs deep in the Queens community that I represent.

“I have had the pleasure to work very closely with Mr. Stringer and his office on issues of great importance, such as how hydrofracking for natural gas in the Catskills near our city’s water supply could pose threats not only to the quality of our drinking water, but also to the city’s financial well-being.

“Scott literally wrote the book on this subject his office’s report on this issue has become required reading for people around the country with deep concerns about hydrofracking.

“Scott has been a visionary state legislator and Borough President, and he would be an exemplary Comptroller for our city.

“While the number of good ideas in this city is vast, there are precious few who possess the judgment and the leadership to make even one good idea into reality.

“Scott is absolutely one of those special leaders. I urge all New Yorkers to support Scott Stringer for Comptroller.”
